The Government have decided on adopting the County" form of Government in uniting the County of Westland and the Nelson South-west Goldfields. The bill will shortly be produced. In reply to Mr Shepherd's motion for re- " allocating the £300,000 voted for tbe Goldfields Water Supply, Mr Reeves said that the Govern- , ment proposed to distribute the money between Ihe Otago, Thames, and Nelson South-west Goldfields. The matter was referred to the Goldfields Committee. Mr Wood nroved, That the House regrets that the Government did not hold the session at Dunedin.
Mt Gisborne said that the Government found that the expense would exceed the anticipated amount, and that the removal would seriously delay, the public works, and cause great inconvenience. They therefore decided to afford the House the opportunity of reconsidering its - decision . After some little discussion, the motion was "withdrawn.
The House agreed to a return of all Harbor, Pilot, and Light dues.
