NELSON BOARD OF WORKS.

The first meeting of the new Board took place last night,. when Mr Percy was, for the third time, elected chairman, on the motion of Mr R. Burn, seconded by Mr D. Burns. A Sanitary Committee was appointed for the year consisting of Messrs D. Burns and J R. Dodson. Meesrs Fell, R. Burn, and J. R. Dodson were appointed to act as a finance Committee ; and Messrs Webb. Jennings, D. Burns, and J. R. Dodson as a Public Works Committee. The Chairman is to be considered ex officio as a member of all the Committees. Attention was called to the dangerous state of a bridge leading from Washington Valley through a private street leading to Bussell-street. The, Board then adjourned until Friday, the 9th inst., at 6.30 p.m.
