PARLIAMENTARY.
The House has appointed a Committee o twelve to enquire into the charges sgainst Mr. O'Conor. Mr. Parker has moved for a return of the public vaccination fees paid. Agreed to. 12.20 r-m. It is rumored that the Government, in order to concilliate the Otairo members, intend making the present a short session, and calling another shortly st Dunedin. Tho Otago members are now ho l.din; a c.u_us ou ihe subject.
Wellington, July 20. A Bill is to he introduced next week for constituting the whole of Westland and the Buller district one province. Notice was given of the introduction of a Bill to abolish imprisonment for debt, also of a motion requesting the Government to table a measure such as was promised last session to define the functions of Provincial Institutions. In reply to a question from Mr. Collins, Mr. Yogel said that the Government intended to amend the Distillation Act. In reply to a question from Wi Parata, Mr. McLean said that the Government proposed to appoint two native members of the Upper House. The Speaker announced the resignation of the Hon. John Hall, who joinß the Ministry with a seat in the Upper House. The Hon. H. J. Miller, now iv the Council, joinp the Ministry,
