The following resolution was agreed to with reference to the debentures for the Bridge-street sewer : — ''That tlie chairman be authorised by this Board lo make arrangements with the Manager of tlie Bank of New Zealand, to meet the debentures due by the Board on the 9th July, and that such arrangements or overdraft shall become a first * charge ou the rates of tbe city." - ■ - The Surveyor was instructed to gravel the footpaths in Russell and Hampden streets. A letter was received from Mrs. Stevens, begging " to-speak in tbo name of one and all in the neighborhood " of Motueka and other adjacent si reels, complaining of the state of, the. ..roads. The Surveyor was instructed to make arrangements for .the present, for gathering^ the water together. The Secretary inirbdr/ced' th& matter of the footpaths aud ditches ih:Wairoea -street, when a resolution was passed to the effect that the Board did not' consider it 'iheir, duty to cover the ditch's Jo .front' of private houses. -' (.--■" The Board then adjourned until Friday, 12th inst, - ■._,";' ;:',"''.
