Sir—l think it worth recording, that it may be handed down in case any dispute should arise, that the flrst bullock publicly roasted whole in Nelson, on the occasion of the Prince of Wales' marriage, was bred by me; and that the first haunch of venison, from the first stag bred in New Zealand was roasted for the public by me, and a multitude have partaken of it gratis. Various opinions were expressed as to flavor, but all pronounced it good; for my self, I should not have known it from a piece of tender beef.
