De awing - Room Entertainment. — There was a very fair audience at the Oddfellows' Hall [last night, when, in addition to the laughable comedy Romance and Reality, and the popular farce Nothing to Wear, Mr. Hoskios and Miss Colville gave selections from Hamlet, which were acted in the most pleasing and effective manner by both of them. On Monday evening Miss Colville takes her benefit, when we hope to see some more representations from Shakespeare. Stoke Farmers' Club. — With reference to this inetitution the Marlborough Express says : -r- In looking over the Nelson papers we are struck by the energy displayed by the members of the Stoke Farmers' Club. They appear to have the interests of agriculture at heart, and oiler a splendid example to the Wairau Agricultural Society. If this year is to prove more successful than the last our farmer friends must bestir themselves in time, or the farmers of Nelson will take the wind out of their sails before they are awake. Subjects of real practical interest are studied and discussed by them at their monthly meeting in a manner which cannot fail to prove beneficial.
