Wintrr Evening Entertainments. — The second of these entertainments, the programme of which is published with this evening's issue, will be given at the Assembly Room this evening at 8 o'clock. Revising Court. — The electoral rolls for the City and suburbs were yesterday revised by E. J. Lee, Eeq. 5 when 87 objections were allowed, and 109 namesadded to the roll for the former district, and for the suburbs 1 1 were struck off and 15 added. Oddfellows' Hall. — In consequence of the wretched state of the weather, Mr. Hoskins and Miss Colville did not give an entertainment last night. They will, however, appear to-morrow and. on Thurs day, when it is to be hoped tbey will be more fortunate in the weather. Loss of A Safe. — As hd iron safe containing a number of deeds belonging to Messrs. Adams and Kingdon was being shipped on board the Lyttelton yesterday afternoon, it fell between the wharf and the steamer into the water, and has not yet been recovered. Annual Licensing Meeting. — The annual meeting was held to-day, before L. Broad, Esq., R.M., N. Edwards, R. Pollock, and T. Brunner, Esqs., J.J.P Thirtynine licenses were re-ispued to the former holders, and one new licen-e for the sale of liquors not to be drunk on the premises, granted to William Fletcher, for the London Wine and Spirit Store, Trafalgarstreet. Smallpox in New Zealand. — Telegrams in this morning's Colonist state that Mr. Kaye (late Posioffice cleik in Nelson) had been attacked with srmllpox in Wellington. The patient, with his own consent, was at once removed to the quarantine ground, being accompanied by two members of the Armed Constabulary. — Henry Thompson, a passenger by the Nebraska from Dunedin to Auckland, has gone to the hospital at the latter place suffering from smallpox. He says that two other passengers by the same vessel who had gone on to San Francisco were similarly affected, but did not know the nature of the disease.
