Inangahtta Reefs. — We are indebted to the Provincial Secretary for the following telegram, received to-day from Mr. Broad, the Warden : — Reefton, Monday : Mace returned yesterday; 603 tons yielded 1116 ounces, or two ounces to the ton, less 2dwts lOgrs. A very Fat Hump-backed Whale was captured off the Kaikouras a short time ago, which yielded about 3-§- tuns of oil. After the blubber had been stripped by the whalers, Mr. Gooch had the remainder of the carcase cut up and boiled down, and the yield was about one-third of a tun. The game will commence at 2.30 p.m. Our visitors expect to leave by the Phoebe on Sunday. Drawing-room Entertainment. — It is scarcely necessary to remind our readers that Mr. Hoskins and Miss Colville give another of their charming entertainments at the Oddfellows' Hall, this evening. The programme, as will be seen, comprises a reading, by Miss Colville, of Bell's Mary Queen of Scots, with reference to which the Press (Canterbury) says:—- --• # * From the commencement of the reading to its close the audience was delighted with this lady, applause bursting forth at intervals; and at the close she received a complete ovation, and bad to appear and acknowledge her thanks.
