Boat Launch.—A boat that Messrs. Freeman and Million have for some time past been engaged in building on, the Haven-road was successfully launched on Saturday night. Steamer Wellington. — Messrs. N. Edwards & Co. have received a telegram this morning from the Manager of the N.Z.S.N. Co. at Wellington, stating that a heavy westerly gale is blowing at Manukau, where the steamer Wellington is at present bar-bound. HPFootball Match.—The ground this afternoon was, as might have been expected, anything but favorable for football playing, but the coldness of the atmosphere seemed to invigorate the players, and after half-an-hour's running, kicking, charging, and scrimmaging, Nelson contrived to secure the first goal. The game was proceeding when we went to, press. The dinner takes place at M'Gee's Hotel, this evening, when the chair will be taken by his Honor the Superintendent. Drawing - Room Entertainment. — There was a good audience at the Oddfellows' Hall last evening when Mr. Hoskins and Miss Colville appeared to even greater advantage than on any of the previous occasions. Their acting in the sprightly little comedy " Morning Calls " was inimitable; the scene from the " School ior Scandal" bore repetition well, and the amusing farce " Conjugal Scenes" called forth incessant peals of laughter. At the conclusion of each piece Mr. Hoskins and Miss Colville were called before the curtain to receive the applause of their. delighted audience. They perform again to-night with a new programme.
