STOKE.

The meeting of ratepayers was held at the schoolroom on Saturday, fourteen householders being present, and Mr. J. T. Smith having been called to the chair,

stated that the retiring members were Messrs. Root, Morrison, and Condell. The following names were then proposed: J. Pay n ter, W. Rout, J. Morrison, J. Rowbotham, W. Burlace Pote, G. F. Martin, B. Condell, and W. Doidge. A ballot was taken, and Messrs. Rout, Gr. F. Martin, and J. Paynter were elected. Mr. Martin was appointed chairman and secretary, nnd Mr. Rout, representative at tho Central Board.
