The Wool Sales terminated March 1. They •were characterised by almost unexampled prices, reaching higher than ever before experienced in this generation, and the prospects of the next sale are excellent. Tallow sells freely. Mutton 42s to 42s 6d; beef 41s 6d to 42s 3d; mixed 42s to 42s 6d. Hides sold freely at an advance of £d per Ib. Leather less active — 13,000 hides sold. Fydney oil 34s to 3Ss; sperm oil cleared at £98. Australian wheat 48s to 61s. Preserved meats considerably lower. New Zealand Debentures — Consolidated fives, January- April, July-October, £103!; sixes, 189 1, March-September £112, January-July £111, Consols 92g. Money abuiidai t. Discount moderate at bank rate. A general rise has taken place in stock markets. Joint stock undertakings are very numerous. Full prices were obtained for 1000 bales of New Zealand Hemp at auction. Shippjno. — Arrivals from New Zealand. — Beth Shan, Countess Kintore, Halcyon, Merope, and Otago. Pailed for New Zealand — Agamemnen, Bulwar, Ironsides, and Wave Queen. Loading for New Zealand — 10. The exports for February and March show a moderate increase to New Zealand; the increase over previous month is £22.300. The supplement to Stables' circular reports three more departures for New Zealand.
