Kennedy, from West Coast : 2 i-chests tea, Hooper; 1 |-chest tea, 1 box tea, 1 parcel, Jones.
The s.s. Kennedy left Nelson at noon on Friday, 26th uit., experienced light N.E. and S.E. winds on the passage to Westport, arriving there at 10.30 a.m. on Saturday, with the schooner Maid of Erin, from Melbourne, in tow. Landed a large cargo, and left again at midnight, arriving at Hokitika at 11 a.m. on Sunday. Monday, landed cargo and left at noon for Greymouth, arriving there at 2.30 p.m. same day; landed cargo, took in 50 tons coal, and left for Westport at 2.30 a.m. on Saturday, arriving there at 11 o'clock same morning. Landed a quantity of cargo for Reefton, and left at 3.15 pm. Passed the s.s. Gothenburg off the Steeples, experienced light N.E. wind, thick weather and rain on the passage to this port, arriving at 5 p.m. on Wednesday.
