Fjriday, Apk-L 19. Present : Messrs. Percy, Fell, Burns, and Webb. A letter was received from the Superintendent acknowledging the receipt of the resolution recently passed by the Board with reference lo the limited duration of the "Provincial Acts Validation Act Continuance Act, 1871," aud sfatiug tliat the subject of the resolution had been for some under the consideration of the Provincial Government, and that a measure for providing for the local management of the City of Nelson, and of other towns in the Province, was in course of preparation. The Surveyor was instructed to gravel the road in front of the workshops of Messrs N. Edwards & Co. on the Port-road. After some discussion relative to Mr. Carter's contract for the supply of bricks, the following resolution was agreed to on the motion of Mr. Fell : — That Mr. Carter j be informed that he has not yet so far j complied with the terms of his contract as I to bs entitled to deliver, or demand payment for, any of the bricks now upon the ground. The Board then adjourned until Friday, May 3, at half-past six.
