Concert at Richmond. — A Tonic SolFa Concert is to be given at the Schoolroom, Richmond, od Friday next. A very capital programme, aud low prices of admission should, and no doubt will, secure a large attendance. Steamer Lady Barkly. — Many of our readers will be glad to hear that this useful little steamer, after having received a thorough overhaul, will resume her running between Nelson and the other side of tho Bay on Thursday next. New Entertainment. — Messrs. Bromley and O'Brien, the former of whom is a celebrated comic singer and *• polyphouist," and the latter one of the cleverest dancers that has visited Nelson, purpose giving an entertainment shortly, particulars of which will be published. Harmonic Society's Concert. — The next quarterly concert will take place at the Provincial Hall, on Thursday evening next, when Birch's lively little Cantata, "The Merry Men of Sherwood Forest" will be sung with instrumental accompaniments. The concert promises to be a most popular one, if we may judge from the crowded state of the beaches on every practice evening, the programme having proved a very attractive one to the members, from which it ia fair to presume that it will be equally popular with the au- | dience. There will be a full rehearsal at j the Provincial Hall this evening, when tickets may be obtained from the secretary. | They will also be obtaiuable at the Soj ciety's* Room on Thursday afternoon instead of Wednesday as originally advertised Mr. and Mrs. Simonsen arrived in Auckland by the Wonga Wonga on Friday last. They purpose remaining there a short time should sufficient inducement offer. Grey Valley Election. — The Inangahua Herald eays : — There is every prospect of a comparatively lively contest in the election of a member for the Grey Valley, to fill the vacancy occasioned by Mr. Wilkie's resignation. The candidates at present mentioned are Messrs. F. Guinness, of Ahaura ; J.W Jones, of No Town ; Arthur Ellis, of Nelson Creek ; J. Taylor, Cobden ; A. E. Drury and C. H. Crampton, of ReeftoD.
