MAILS CLOSE. For Wellington, Napier, and Southern Provinces of New Zealand, and Australian Colonies — per e.s. Alhambra, to-morrow, at 3 p.m. For Westport, Greymouth, and Hokitika — per p.s. Charles Edward, on Saturday, at 4.30 p.m. For Tadmor and Wangapeka — Close every Tuesday and Friday, at 2.30 p.m., and arrive every Tuesday and Friday, at 11 a.m. For Wakapuaka— Close every Wednesday and Saturday, at 2.30 p.m. ; arrive every Wednesday and Saturday, at 11 a.m. The rate of postage from New Zealand to the United Kingdom, via Brindisi, has been raised from 9d. to lOd. per £ oz. On and after Ist Octber, Postage Labels at Id., 2d.,and 6d., will be issued of a different color from those now in use. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
