Hokitika, April 17. The Alhnmbra arrived at Hokitika at 8 a.m. Passengers : Messrs Cassius, Davidson, Harrison, James, Smith, Miss Martin, Mrs Patterson, Mrs. Clouston and three children. She left Melbourne on the afternoon of tbe llth. Robert Eylon, charged with parsing a valueless cheque on the Aucklaud Bauk, has been further remanded. The Hou. Wixon bas had a fall from his horse, which caused concussion of the brain. He is going on favorably. The one innings and single wicket matches Sydney and Victoria bothj terminated in favor of Victoria. Advices have arrived that tbe telegraphic cheques between Englaud and Australia will be nearly double what was previously commenced. The Governor has subscribed £20 for the burnt-out theatricals. Whitworlh has published a series of tales entitled " Under the Dray," which have proved very successful. Tookeys nominally £6 103. and little inquiry. ISailed : Our Hope, for Dunedin.
