Board of Works. — A special meeting is called for to-morrow evening to consider the present construction of the Board. Ploughing Match. — The ploughing match under the auspices of the Stoke Farmers' Club takes place at Stoke tomorrow. Oddfellowshi p. — The Richmond people are looking forward to to-morrow, to enjoy the holiday of which they were deprived on Friday last, and as the weather seems more propitious, a pleasant day will probably be spent. Edible Fungus to the value of £800 .was shipped from Dunedin for Hong Kong by the barque Sea Gull, recently. The Lawrence correspondent of the Bruce Herald, writes : — "Money terribly dear, 100 per cent, on small sums being frequent. According to the Bruce Herald, Mr. Logic, the Chief Sheep Inspector, reports that the Province of Otago is free from scab. A Grand Ball, at which 600 persons were present, was siven to the Volunteer representatives at Christcburch on Thursday evening last. The Colonial Museum at Wellington has been improved by the addition, at the south end of the large room, of a gallery, on which have been placed skeletons of the Moa and other birds.
