«__W_____M_a_UM___B-__H__-__M-_HME-_«H_^ Magistrates' Court. — There was a long list of cases disposed of at tbe Court by tbe sitting Justices this morning, a report of which will appear in our tomorrow's issue. Australian Mails. — We are requested to state that the Postof_.ce will be open to-night for the delivery of letters after the Australian mails are sorted in order to enable replies to correspondence by the Rangitoto to be sent by the Alhambra tomorrow morning. Oddfellows' Hall.— The musical and dramatic entertainment given last night by Miss Clara Stephenson and her little company passed off most successfully, and the reception tbey met with has been sufficient to induce them to give two more performances, on Saturday and Monday next, on the laßt of which occasions Miss Stephenson will take her farewell benefit. Nelson and Foxhill Railway. — As a certain amount of dissatisfaction has been created at Stoke by the direction it is proposed the railway shal! take, the residents _n tbat district have adopted tbe sensible plan of calling a meeting for the purpose •of discussing the matter on Monday •evening next, when Mr. Austin, the surveyor <c£ the line, is invited to attend arid explain -away any misunderstandings that have arisen, .wad listen to the suggestions that may jhe offered by those wbose properties are affecjted/ The inhabitants are all moßt anxious /to have the railroad, but at present it appears to them
that occasional slight deviations from the line as laid out would be attended with advantage to themselves without in any way adding to the expense of the work.
