Meeting of Provincial Council. — We understand tbat tbe Provincial Council is summoned to meet on the 30th April next. Appointment of Visiting Justice oe Nelson Gaol. — Sir David Monro has been appointed a Visiting Justice of the Nelson Gaol, in the place of David Rough, Esq., resigned. Advance in ths Price oe New Zealand Hemp. — This article is in good demand at home, stocks are almost exhausted aud prices have advanced thirty shillings per ton. Arrival of Nelson Colonists. — It is with pleasure we announce the safe arrival at the Bluft of Mr. and Mrs. A. Sclandere, who left our city a short time since on a visit to the home country. Hospital. — Sir David Monro has beeD appointed a member of the Nelson Hospital Committee in the place of David Rough, Esq., who has lately resigued in consequence of his contemplated absence from the Colony. Another Advance in the Price of Wool. — This is gladsome news ; iudeed, what could the most ardent speculative purchaser have desired more than that wool should have risen another threepence per pound, that the market should still show great activity, private demand for consumption be UDabated, stocks low, and a further advance expected. General Government GAZETTE.-The General Government Gazette, of the 14th inst., contains the following notifications: — That George Hodgson, Esq., has been appointed Receiver of Gold Revenue for the districts of Waogapekaand Matakitaki; that William Horton Revel), Esq., J.P., is to be Resident Magistrate for. the district of Nelson South-west Goldfields ; and that Frederick William Hull, Esq., of Blenheim, ib made a Justice of the Peace.
