London, January 20 — For wool, strong enquiries are made, and prices are very firm, with an upward tendency. Tallow is active, there heing speculative demands. New Zealand flax is in good demand. There is a further rise of 30s. per ton. Hides. — Active sales. Australian at full previous rates. Leather is very active. All descriptions of Australian have advanced 31s. 4d. Consols, 921. Wheat has advanced Is. 4d. Paris, February 5.— -Rentes, 56 francs 59 cents. New York, February 3.— Since the last mail, the barque Lancost sailed for Sydney with 4056 cases of kerosine and general cargo. Gold is more active. Sales at 110J, and closed at 109|. Sales of 52,000 pounds of New Zealand wool have taken place at Boston, at 55 to 56 cents [2s. B^A. to 2s. 4d.] The William has arrived from Dunedin. The William Provo is loading for Nelson.
