To The Editok 01? the Nelson Evening Mail" Sik — Your renders may possibly feel interested to know the exact degree of temperature they have been enduriug lately. The temperature in the sunshine (as determined by one of Negretti and Zambra's self-registering black-bulb solar thermometers in vacud) was 189 deg. last Thursday and as much as 190 deg. to-day. In the shade (by Casella's self-registering thermometer 90 deg. on Thursday and 87 deg. to-day. Last night the lowest temperature (by Negretti's minimum thermometer) was 70 deg. The air to-day has been moderately dry (relative humidity *57) with, a fulling barometer. I am, &c, C. Rous Marten, F.M.S. February 5, 1872.
