Perseverance Company. — The adjourned meeting of shareholders will be held at the Oddfellows' Hall to-morrow evening. Doran's Company. — The annual general meeting of the Shareholders in this Company was held last eight, when the report and balunce-sheet were adopted, and the auditors of last year re-elected. Iq the place of the four retiring director?. Messrs. Dodson, Gillovv, Moutray, Sheen, J. Hounsell, and Burnett were proposed, and the poll will fake place on Saturday afternoon nex^, between the hours of 12 and 2. The meeting was adjourned until Friday, the 16th instant. • To-Day's Holiday. — If a clear sky, v fresh breeze and a burning sun tend (o make a holiday pleasant, theu the anniversary of 1872 may be said to be a truly enjoyable one. In addition to this, however, the Oddfellows and Foresteis have undertaken the catering for the day'samusement, and have drawn up a bill of fare that will probably attract to the grounds a number of lovers of athletic sports. The members of these two Societies met at their respective lodges this morning, and having combined their forces, marched round the town in procession headed by the Nelson Band, and then proceeded to the Botauical Gardens, where (he various amusements are to take place, during the day, and the firewoiks to be exhibited in the evening. The Lirly Barkly which arrived from Golden Bay and Molueka this morning brought 16 excursionists from the latter place, and the Charles Edward started ou a pleasure trip to Kai-teri-teri and Astrolabe with about 70 passengers.
