We warn these gentlemen that we will not accept even honorary membership in the concern ; we do not sympathise with the movement. TJpon several occasious we have stood by and seen young ludies' Doses disappear j beneath the waters blue, with stolid indifference. We know their tricks and their manners — waking to consciousness in a fellow's arms, aud throwing their wet ones about his neck, saying, • The life you have preserved, noble youth, is yours ; whither thou goest I will go ; and thy horses and carriages shall be my horses and carriages !' This cheerful sort of thing may be coveted by a Green Mountain Boy — a very green mountain boy — but we are too old a sturgeon to be caught with a spoon-hook."
