MAILS CLOSE, For Motueka and Golden Bay — per p.s Lady Barkly, this day, at 4.30 p.m. For Picton, Wellington, and Southern Provinces — per s,s. Wellington, on arrival with San Francisco mail, about 3 1st inst. For Marlborough— per p.s. Lyttelton, on the 31st inst. For Westport, Grey mouth, and Hokitika — per p.s. Charles Edward, on the Ist Feb. For New Plymouth, Auckland and Fiji — per s.s. Phoebe, on-the Ist Feb. Mails by s.s. Albambra, will close to-morrow, Wednesday, as under :— For the United Kingdom, via Suez and Brindisi (only specially addressed letters), India, China, and the East; the Continent of Europe, via Suez, to be despatched from Melbourne, on the 16th February, by the extra trip of the Bangalore—at 10 am. Newspapers, Registered Letters, and Money Orders-— at 9.30 a.m. For Greymouth, Hokitika, and the Australian Colonies — at 1 1 a.m. For United Kingdom, Continent of Europe, via Suez and Brindisi (only specially addressed letters); India, China, and the East, Cupe of Good Hope, &c. — per s.s. Albion, about Saturday, February 10. Mails are due in London 14th and 20th April. The next Mail for the United Kingdom, via San Francisco will leave Nelson on Monday, Feb. 19. Mails are due in London 6th April. For Tadmor and Wangapeka — Close every Tuesday and Friday, at 2.3 a p.m., and arrive every Tuesday and Friday, at 11 a.m. For Wakapuaka — Close every Wednesday and Saturday, at 2.30 p.m. ; arrive every Wednesday and Saturday, at 11 a.m. Note.-— The postage labels, already issued, are still available. On and after Ist Octber, Postage Labels at Id. 2d., and 6d., will be issued of a different color from those now in use. The. rate of postage f rota New Zealand to the United Kingdom, via Brindisi, has been raised from 9d. to lOd. per § oz. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
