Friday, January 26, 1872. All the members present but Mr. Burn and Mr. D. Burns. In reply to a letter from Mr. J. H. Levien, requesting to be furnished • with thearnouut of the values of the several, properties of ratepayers liable to be specially rated for the contemplated sewage works, the Secretary was instructed to inform him tbat the blockbooks were at his disposal duriDg office hours. Complaints having been made of persons removing saud from Mary Annstreet, the Secretary was instructed to advertise a caution against doing so. The discussion ou Mr. Wilkie's letter was postponed until Friday next, when a special meeting will be held for the purpose. .'"■■■■■/ The Secretary/ was instructed. tb : j issue distress warrants in all cases where judgment has been obiained for tbe rate!*, unless such rates bo paid within a month from this date.
A deputation was appointed to wait upon | his Honor the Superintendent in order to ascertain from him with whom rested the power of directing the prison labor, as on several occasions the men had been removed from work upon which they were engaged for the Board, leaving it ouly partly finished. The Board then adjourned until Friday next, the 2nd February.
