NELSON BOARD OF WORKS.
0 Friday, January 12, 1872. Present : Ail tho members but Mr. Dodson and Mr. Fell. The Surveyor was instructed to obtain a supply of building stone from the Dun Mountain, previous to tho rails being taken up. Permission was granted to Mr. West to erect two sign-boards across the footpath iu front of his shop. Tho Surveyor slated that he had spoken to the solicitor to the Board, respecting tbe removal of a verandah in front of the Bank of New South Wah-s, and that he was of opinion that nothing could have been done (o prevent its removal, but recommended the Board for the future not to grant permission to erect verandahs without au agreement that ihey should not be removed without the permission of the Board. The discussion upon the opposition to the Drainnge question was postponed until the next meeting. The Board then adjouned until Fridav, the 26th inst.
