The American papers give us no later accounts of the English markets than were received by the Suez mail last week. The wool market in America is reported active. Fine foreigu wools were steadier, and manufacturers purchased them more freely. The sales of Australian wools in New York include 3,000 lbs., at 2s. 4d. per lb.; 150.000 lbs. and 135 bales on private terms. At Boston the sales have been 28,000 lbs. of New Zealand, at 2s. 3i«1.; 40,000 lbs. ditto, Is. Bd.; 29,000 lbs. ditto, private terms; 1,000 lbs. of Australian, 2s. Id.; 6,000 lbs. ditto, 2s. 3d.; and 25,000 lbs. ditto, private terms. In the same market, phormium (New Zealand flax) met a little demand at an advance of 20s. to 255. a ton. The sales comprised 1,250 bales, which broua:ht from £30 to £34 ; ordinary to fair, £22 to £29. For remainder of news see fourth page.
