COUNTRY SCHOOLS.
The following prizes have been distributed in the country :— STOKE SCHOOL. , First Class— Harriet A. Smith, 1 ; Charles Harley, 2. Second Class— William Rout, 1; Ada Cresswell, 2. Third Class— John Jellyman, l- Eliza Burlace, 2. , Fourth Class— John Burlace, 1; Jane Hargreaves, 2. Fifth Class— Agnes Jellyman, I ; William Hargreaves, 2. Sixth Class— William Paynter, 1; Jane Ching, 2. The children at this school are on the average a year to eighteen months younger than at * Spring Grove and River Terrace. Making due i allowance for this, their progress is equally satis-' factory, and their order and good conduct during the examination was creditable to themselves and their teachers, Mr. and Mrs. Smith.
