COLLEGE SPORTS.
0 The annual sports at the Nelson Cfcllege commenced i esterday, when moat of the events were well contested There was a. goodly sprinkling of visitors on the ground, hut not so many as we i remember to have seen on former occasions, the ' result, no doubt, of the necessary postponement from the day first appointed. The chief interest, of course, centered in thoseeventsin which marks were awarded for the Challenge Cup (which will be found below marked -with an asterisk), and the equal excellence displayed by Warnock and E. Blundell, the two who from the first were singed out as being the competitor-* between whom the ! great, contest -would lav, 1 ended greatly to enhance | this interest. It will be seen that out of the six events for this prize, four were won by Blundell. in three of which Warnock was second, and in one, third; and two by Warnock, Blundell being second to him in one, and tying Wither for third place in the other. We h_ve not space to allude to all the races in detail, hut ye may say that all of them were warmly contested, come of the little fe.lows especially astonishing the lookers-on by their feats of strength and agility. The ground was in as bad order \& it possibly could be, owing to the long continued drought, and from its' excessive hardness must have been extremely trying to the feet and ancles of the competitors.
