MAILS CLOSK. For Havelock, Picton, and Blenheim— per Overland Carrier, on Wednesday (this day), at 4.30 p m. For Wanganui and New Plymouth— per ss. "WaDganui, on 'Jhursday (to-morrow), the 6th inst. For Marlborough, Wellington, Napier, and the Southern Provinces of New Zealand, per s.s. Phoebe, on arrival. For Tadmor and Wangapeka — Close every Tuesday and Friday, at 2.30 p.m., and arrive every Tuesday and Friday, at 11 a.m. For Wakapuaka— Close ever}; Wednesday and Saturday, at 2.30 p.m.; arrive every Wednesday and Saturday, at 11 a.m. ]$ OTE . Arrangements have been made fjr an exchange of direct mails between New Zealand ana Italy via Suez. Correspondence for the Continent of Europe can now be sent to the Postoffice at Brindisi for despatch thence. The rates of postage can be learned on application at any postoffice. On and after Ist Octber, Postage Labels at Id., 2d., and6d., will be issued of a different color from those now in use. Note.— The postage labels, already issued, are still available. The rate of postage from New Zealand to the United Kingdom, via Brindisi, has been raised from 9d. to lOd. per \ oz. SYDNEY J. DICK, , Chief Postmaster.
