Savart. MECHANICAL. Mr. Oaket, Inventor of, and Performer on, the " Orchestrina," tegs to state that, .in London, he underwent a thorough training with his father (who held one of the highest positions at Messrs. Collard and* Collard's)ui the art of covering hammers, making the small work, and finishing and regulating Pianofortes. In the course of a long practice in Tuning, &c, he bas studied all tbe makers' various mechanisms, rjhere being upwards of thirty different actions. In order to effect repairs on the most reason- . able terms, Mr. Oaket, has erected a Workshop, and purchased all the most recent inventions in Tools, including a Lathe, Drilling, Boring, and Morticing Machines. He can, therefore, confidently say that he now possesses by far the largest set of Musical Tools, and Pianofortemaking Machinery in New Zealand. In addition, he has in stock varieties of Felt for hammer covering (this he can effect at English prices); Leathers and Cloths for Actions, Dampers, Hoppers, Levers, and various parts of Pianoforte mechanism; Smith's Patent Piano Wire; Harmonium Reeds;, and all the requisites for the repairs of Organs, Harmoniums, Concertinas, Flutinas, Organ Accordions; also for Eucerpeons, and every kind of self-acting instrument. Mr. Oakey respectfully invites inspection of his Workshop at any time, feeling confident that he can render a good old Pianoforte almost equal to new, and effect Repairs, &c, cheaper, and infinitely belter, than any peripatetic Tuner.
