We are indebted to Mr. Moss, the purser of the Taranaki, for the following report:—The s.s. Taranaki, 299 tons, E. Wheeler, Commander, arrived alongside the wharf at 8 o'clock this morning. Reports having left Onehunga at 3 a.m. on the 13th; was detained on the Manukau bar till the following day through stress of weather. Anchored off Taranaki at 3 a.m. on the 15th. Landed mails and passengers, and sailed for Nelson at 11 am. same day, and arrived at the outer anchorage at 2 o'clock this morning. From Manukau heads to Taranaki experienced fresh S.W. wind with westerly sea, followed by fine weather until her arrival as above.
