The Anchor Line Co's p.s. Charles Edward, Captain Holmes, arrived from the West Coast this morning at 1.30 o'clock. She left Nelson on Wednesday last, at 230 p.m.; experienced a strong S.W. gale, and arrived in Westport at 4 p.m. the following day. Discharged a lare cargo and left again at 4.30 a.m. on Friday, arriving at Greymouth at 4 p.m. same day. Crossed the Greymouth bar outwards through a heavy surf at 5 pa on Saturday arrived at midnight and entered the river at 6 a.m on Sunday; left that port at 8 am. on Tuesday arriving as above. She leaves for the West Coast at 9 p.m. tomorrow.
