MAILS CLOSE. For Motueka and Golden Bay — per p.s. Lady Barkly, to-day, Tuesday, at 4.30 p. m. For Wellington and South, (only specially addressed letters), per brig Chanticleer tomorrow at 11 a.m. For Greymouth, Hokitika, and the Australian Colonies— per s.s. Alhambra, this day, at 8 p.m. For Westport, Greymouth, and Hokitika — per p.s. Charles Edward, to-morrow, at 1 p.m. For "Wakapuaka — Close every Wednesday and Saturday, at 2.30 p.m.; arrive every Wednesday and Saturday, at 1 1 a.m. Note. — In consequence of the Australian Mails being now conveyed by British Packets between Brindisi and Alexandria, a reduction in Postage on Letters sent via Brindisi has been effected. The, Kites of Postage to be charged in New Zealand on Correspondence for the United Kingdom, via Brindisi, will therefore be as follows :— - Letters. — Not exceeding \ ounce, 9d. ; exceeding | ounce and not exceeding 1 ounce, Is. 6d.; and so on, 9d for every additional } ounce or fraction of i ounce.
