The Anchor Line Co's p.s. Charles Edward, Captain Holmes, arrived from the West Coast at noon yesterday. From Westport to Nelson experienced strong N.E. breeze, with heavy head sea. The Charles Edward leaves for Westport and Greymoutii at 2 p.m. to-morrow. Messrs. M'Meckan, Blackwood, and Co.'s steamship Alhambra, from Melbourne via Blufi Harbor, arrived here at 1 p.m. to-day. She left the Hobson's Bay Eailway Pier at 4 p.m. on the 24th ult.; cleared Port Phillip Heads at 6.30 p.m., and passed Swan Island on the following day at 3 p.m.; experienced strong S.W. gales for the first two days, then strong S.B. winds to arrival at the Bluff at 6 a.m. on the 30th. Discharged cargo, embarked passengers, and left at 3.30 p.m. the same day, arrived at Port Chalmers on the 31st at 10 a.m., left next day at 4.30 p.m., arriving at Lyttelton on 2nd inst., at 12.30 p.m., left same day at 8 p.m and arrived at Wellington on the 3rd at 1 p.m, leftj again for Neleon yesterday at midnight, arriving as above.
