Winter Evening Lectures. —We remind our readers of the lecture to be delivered this evening by Dr. Cotterell on "The Mechanism of the Human Skeleton." The Government steamer Luua arrived in harbor this morning having nearly all the Auckland aud Taranaki members on board. She sails for Picton aud Wellington at 5 o'clock to-morrow morning. Mails for the South, it will be seen, close at 8 o'clock this evening. Supreme Court. —The case of Connal v. James has occupied the Court the whole of yesterday afternoon and this morning. The case for the plaintiff had just closed when we went to press, which we bave done at an earlier hour than usual to-day, in order to place our readers in possession of the' European news by the Suez mail as soon as possible.
