SUPREME COURT.
CIVIL. SITTINGS. [Before his Honor Mr. Justice Richmond and a Special Jury.] Pike v. Travers. This was an action brought in respect of a promissory note made by Conrad Sandbrook Saxfcon in favor of defendant, and by him endorsed over to plaintiff in payment for certain- sheep, and which still remained unpaid. The defence was that the plaintiff by a subsequent arrangement agreed to exonerate the defendant from all liability on account of the note. The bill was originally for £1500, but the interest on it amounted to £1018 15s 4d making the total amount claimed £2518 15s 4d. The case, which contains no less than 21 issues, is likely to last a long time. Mr. Conolly and Mr. Pitt appeared for the plaiutiff, and Mr. Allan and Mr. Fell for the defendant.
