MATLS CLOSE. For Marlborough, Wellington, Napier, and the Southern Provinces of New Zealand, per contract steamer Taranaki. on arrival. Eor Wellington, and Southern Provinces of New Zealand—per s.s. Rangitoto, to-morrow, Saturday, 22nd inst. For Greymouth, Hokitika, and the Australian Colonies—per s.s. Gothenburg, on Monday, 24th inst., at 11 a.m. For New Plymouth, Auckland and "Fiji-: —per s.s. Wellington, on Monday, 24th inst., at 8 p.m.
For Stoke, Richmond, Hope, Spring Grove, Wakefield, and Foxhill—Close at Chief Post Office daily at 2.30 p.m.; arrive at Chief Post Office daily, at 11 o'clock, a.m. For Appleby, Upper and Lower Moutere, Nga Timote, Motueka, and lliwaka—Close every Monday and Thursday, at 8.30, a.m.; arrive every Tuesday and Friday, at 4 p.m. Also, for Motueka per steamer as opportunity offers.
Note. —lnconsequence of the Australian Mails being now conveyed by British Packets between Brindisi and Alexandria, a reduction in Postage on Letters sent via Brindisi has been effected. The rates of Postage to he charged in New Zealand on Correspondence for the United Kingdom, via Brindisi, will therefore be as follows : — Letters.—Not exceeding £ ounce, 9d. ; exceeding £ ounce and not exceeding 1 ounce, Is. 6d.; and so on, 9d for every additional \ ounce or fraction of \ ounce. Newspapers under 4 ounces, each^d.; for every additional 4 ounces, 4d. Book and Pattern Parcels.—.Not exceeding 1 ounce, 2d.; exceeding 1 ounce and not exceeding 2 ounces, 4d.; exceeding "2 ounces and not exceeding 4 ounces, 7d.; exceeding 4 ounces and not exceeding 8 ounces, Is. ?d.; and,so on, Is 2d for every additional 8 ounces or fraction ot.B ounces. r SYDNEY J.
