Gaspipes are now being laid in Greymouth, which in less than a month's time will be lighted by gas. Resident Magistrate's Court. — John Bailey, a seaman oo board the Beth Shau, was this morning sentenced to oile month's imprisonment with hard labor flff unlawfully and wilfully continuing to disobey the lawful commands of the ship's officers. Gazette in Bankruptcy. — The Gazette of this morning contains a notification that dividends "'on proved debts in the undermentioned estates will be payable on the Ist August at the Office of the Provisional Trustee :— John M' Vicar, eightpence in the pound: James Thomas Smith, 2s lOd in the pound; James Tingle, 3s lid in the pound; and John Disber, ls 9d in the pound. The Late Mr. Sinclair. — The funeral of Mr. Manson Sinclair which is to take place to-morrow afternoon at two o'clock, is likely to prove one of the largest that has ever taken place in. Nelson, as besides having a large circle of private friends, he was a member of several Societies, the members of which will, on this occasion, muster in considerable force. Most of the places of business in the town will, we understand, be closed after one o'clock. Wesleyan Anniversary. — The annual tea meeting will be held at the Wesleyan Church this afternooo, and be followed by the customary public meeting when several miuisters and friends, including Captain Peek, of the ship Beth Shan, will address those present. The collections made on this occasion are, we understand, to be devoted to the erection of a neat iron railing in front of the Church grounds, in tbe place of the rather shabby wooden paling that at present encloses them.
