Gbeville's Company, Reuters Agents.] Bluff, July 16, The Gothenburg left Hobson's Bay at 6.30 p.m. on the 10th July, arrived here at daylight this morning, and sails for Dunedin to-morrow night. Passengers — for Dunedin : Mrs. M'lntosh and infant, Miss Filmie, Mr. Wallace, Messrs. Jones, Youog, Littlewood, Anderson, Duly, Heymanson, Mr. and Mrs.. Daniels. Melbourne, 10th July. VYalch, of Ballarat, has been appointed Attorney-General. \His u-e-election will probably be opposed. \ \ \ The new Ministry is popularising Grant, and offering increased facilities to selectors occupying land. •A Cruelty to Animals Prevention Society has been incorporated. Pleuro-pneumouia has made its appearance amongst cows. The pretended Messiah, Fisher, of Nunawading ; has had a charge brought against him for obtaining money under false pretences, which excited much interest. It was heard and dismissed. Arrived : — Gothenburg from Hokitika, Rangitoto from Wellington, Maiden Lewis from Okarita. Sailed :—Prosperity for Hokitika, Waterman for Greymouth. The Markets.— Generally quiet. Tobacco is advancing. Flour, South Australian £16 15s. to £17 ; New Zealand £13 15s. New Zealand wheat 6s. to 6s. 4d ; Adelaide, 7s. 4d. New Zealand oats 3s. 4d. to 3s. 6d. , * . Tookey, Thames, double issue, £30 10s. and £30 15s, firm.
