We are indebted to Mr C. A. Deacon, purser of the s.s. Kennedy, for the following : —The s s. Kennedy arrived here at 6.30 p.m. yesterday. She left Nelson at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, the 28th ult.; experienced strong S.W. gal« and heavy head sea on the passage to Westport, arriving there at 5 a.m on Friday. Landed cargo and left for Hokitika at 7 p.m., arriving there at 8 o'clock next morning. Landed and took in cargo, but was detained in Hokitika until Monday morning on account of the bad state of the bar, and arrived at the Grey at 11 am the same day. Landed cargo, shipped 55 tons of coal, and left same night for Westport at 11 p.m.; crossed the Buller bar through a very heavy sea, and arrived at Westport at 10 .am. on Tuesday. Landed passengers and cargo, and left for Nelson at 10.30 p.m.; experienced strong N.W. and S.W. winds on the passage up; rounded Farewell Spit at 1 p.m., and arrived at Nelson as above.
