NELSON BOARD OF WORKS.

Friday, June 16. Present : All the members. The Finance Committee reported having examined the accounts, and recommended that no new contracts should be entered into until the election of the new Board, to take place at the end of next month. The Public Works Committee recommended that the Board should not divert the watercourse in Kawai-street, as requested by Mr. Stringer. The Surveyor was instructed to continue the new culvert in Collingwoodstreet. Leave was grauted to Mr. T. Gorman to make use of a piece of waste land near the Eel Pond on the usual conditions. On the motion of Mr. Haddow, the Inspector of Nuisances was instructed to warn any persons riding or driving on the footpaths in any part of the town, and upon the offence being repeated to take proceedings against them. The Board then adjourned until Friday, June 30. V<
