Collingwood. — A man called " Yankee Dave," at work on the Perseverance race was chopping firewood on Sunday evening last, and the wood slipping, the axe cut his leg to the bone making a large gash. He was at once conveyed on a stretcher to Bedstead G-ully, by his mates, and from thence to Collingwood, the whole male population turning out to .lend a hand; from latest accounts we learn that he is progressing favorably.
