MONDAY, MAY 1, 1871.

An Ordination was held at Christ Church this morning by the Bishop of Nelson when Mr. Richard Hampson Gaskiu was admitted to deacon's orders. Fire on Board the Barque Malay. — We learn by telegram that the barque Malay, now loading at Port Underwood, took fire yesterday afternoon at 4 o'clock. The fire was got under before the vessel was injured, but a quantity ol wool and flax was damaged.
