MAILS CLOSE. The next home mail from New Zealand to Europe and America via Ran Francisco, will leave Wellington by p.s. Nevada on the 13th May, and Auckland on the 19th May. The next home mail via Suez, leaves Melbourne on the 20th May. For Stoke, Richmond, Hope, Spring Grove, Wakefield, and Foxhill— Close at Chief Post Office daily at 2.30 p.m. ; arrive at Chief Post Office daily, at 11 o'clock, a.m. For Wakapuaka — Close every Wednesday and Saturday, at 2.30 p.m.; arrive every Wednesday and Saturday, at 11 a.m. For Tadmor and Wangapeka — Close every Tuesdav and Friday, at 2.30 p.m., and arrive every Tuesday and Friday, at 11 a.m. For Appleby, Upper and Lower Moutere, Nga Timote, Motueka, and Ttiwaka — Close every Monday and Thursday, at 8,30, a.m.; arrive every Tuesday and Friday, at 4 p.m. Also, for Motueka; per steamer as opportunity oilers. Note, — In consequence of the Australian Mails being now conveyed by Britis-h Packets between ' Brindisi and Alexandria, a reduction in Postage on Letters sent via Brindisi ha3 been effected. - The rates of Postage to be charged in New Zealand on Correspondence for the United Kingdom, via Brindisi, will therefore be as follows : — Zetfers.— Not . exceeding £ ounce, 9d. ; exceeding i ounce and not exceeding 1 ounce. Is. 6d.; and so on, 9d for every additional £ ounce or: fraction of jounce. *New'ipapeff under 4 ounces, each 4d.; for every additional 4 ounces, 4d. Booh and Pattern Parcels.— Not exceeding 1 ounce, 2d. ; exceeding 1 ounce and not exceeding 2 ounces, 4d. ; exceeding 2 ounces and not exceeding 4 ounces, 7d. ;■'' exceeding 4 ounces and not exceeding 8 ounces', ls.^d.; and so oh, Is 2d for every additional 8 ounces or fraction of 8 ounces.
