CORRESPONDENCE.
—— o , . %• We are desirous of affording every . reasonable facility for the discussion of public subjects; but it ■ . must be understood that we are in no way responsible for the opinions expressed by correspondents. To the Editor op the Nelson Evening Mail. Sir — I have read a letter in your paper signed " Black Diamond," relative to. the claims of the north side of the river Grey, for the contemplated railway to the coal mine. ( "Black Diamond's" statements are, in ,the main, correct, but to my astonishment he overlooks -the fact that : aa the line oa the* South' flifre^bf^the river would cosfc
about three times as much as it would on the north side, it would be so much the better for the working men. I do hate, to see men writ© on public mattters who possess such narrow-minded views. I am, sir, A Greymouthian. Greymouth, April 17 1871.
