1 case, Hutcheson; case, Tub Anchor Line Co's steamer Charles Edward, arrived in port last night at half-past seven after a quick passage of nineteen hours from Westport. She left here on Monday last at 4 p.m., called at Motueka and left at 8 p.m., experienced strong S.E. wind on the passage down and arrived off Westport at 2 p.m. on Tuesday crossing the bar at seven p m., Discharged the bulk of her cargo on Wednesday and sailed at ten p.m v,.arrived at Hokitika on Thursday morning, and left at 9 30 a.m. on Friday reaching Greymouth the same tide. Left Grey mouth on Saturday at noon, crossed the Buller bar at 10 p.m. and left for Nelson at 12 30 midnight arriving as above. Fine weather and easterly winds have been experienced throughout the entire trip. She leaves again on Thursday for West Coast ports.
