A Tidal Wave, on a small scale, was witnessed at Westport last week. It was low water at the time, and in a few minutes the river, towards the mouth, reached high water mark. A valuable importation of pure-bred stock has been made by Mr. Boag, of Canterbury. The importation comprised a splendid entire colt, a filly of high pedigree, a short horned cow, some splendid sheep, including a magnificent prize ram, and some Berkshire pigs. From the Melbourne papers it would appear the Omeo is not likely to pay New Zealand a visit for some time to come. She arrived at that port on her return trip from Victor Harbor on the 24th ult., with a very large cargo, and was reported as having sailed for Newcastle at a subsequent date.
