(your Dogs). — William Stavert, Frank Simmons, Henry Crawford, Mary Scott, Joseph Ellis, John Whent, and Samuel Wakely were (his morning each fiaed five shillings and costs, for having in their possession dogs without, tickets. The Inspector of Police is making preparations for holding a large levee of applicants for tickets on Monday morning. H. M. S. Clio.— We take the following from tho Examiner : — Invercargili, March j 3. The Storm bird arrived in New River, from Biigii Sound, at two o'clock this morniug, and came up to the jetty .it high J water, arriving at 10 o'clock, with the Governor and Captain Pitc ou.-hoard. lie was received by the Supejiiftendent aud a crowd of persons. T\)#rf3outhland Times' reporter states, that the Stormbird left Invercargili on Sunday morning, and arrived in Biigh Sound, discovered a buoy on the rock which caused the accident ; then proceeded to head of tho Sound, where she found ihe Clio riding at anchor, apparently all right, with sails unbent. ! The leak was twelve feet under water at | the starboard bow. Two divers of the j Clio were sent down, who packed the wounded part and nailed the leak over ; the carpenters repairing the outside, and the leak is stopped. The Virago arrived on Wednesday forenoon. The Clio is fit for sea, but is detained for survey, before deciding whether to send her to Port Chalmers ou^o Sydney, most probably Port Chalmers. The Stormbird left at noon ou Wednesday, having visited Breaksea and Thompson's Sound, and arrived at Invercargiil as above. She was detained on Tuesday by a heavy gale. I The Virago reports that she felt the same outside. The Governor goes to the Bluff this afternoon.
