It is calculated that between the 27th and 30th uit, inclusive, from 7,000 to 8,000 projectiles were fired by the Paris forts, and redoubts alone, exclusive of field artillery and infantry, at the* entrenchments, camps, and field works of the Germaus. Somo 25,000 dr 26,000— spme say 30,000 — shells were thrown, and not one man was killed for every 1,000 shells. The expenditure of ammunition will, it is said, probably cost France a msiion of francß.
